Lanark Business Leadership and Development Conference in 2018

The One-Day Conference is organized jointly by the Perth & District Chamber of Commerce and Algonquin College, Perth Campus. The theme for the first annual conference is “Strategies to Grow and Connect Your Business” and consists of a series of Workshops, Keynote Speakers and a Panel Discussion.

The conference content focuses on current leadership and business topics from experts, accomplished business owners and community professionals and a panel of grant and funding experts. This high caliber group of delegates hold positions ranging from the Dean of Hospitality and Tourism, CEO, Directors and Owners as well as Partners from Industries including education, media, marketing, communications, technology, consumer goods and services, government and manufacturing.

For an early bird price of only $150 participants will hear from Bruce Linton, founder of Canopy Growth Corporation and co-founder of Tweed Marijuana Inc. and Mark Zekulin President of Canopy Growth Corporation on why they do business in Lanark County. Participants will have their choice of two workshops covering three topics; the power of Personal Branding; how to improve productivity through employee engagement and how to protect your business against cybercrime. All workshops are delivered by experts in their field. The session also includes a motivational speech on maximizing individual potential and being an effective team player at work, home or play delivered by Jim Kyte who enjoyed a 17 year professional hockey career. Finally participants will enjoy a panel discussion on how to successfully get grant funding. Panelists include representatives from the Business Development Corporation, Valley Heartland, Cat’s Cove Communications, Launch Lab and the federal government Concierge.
