For over a decade, Dave has been the driving force behind Computer Plus, a small but mighty tech service and retail business serving the community with dedication and reliability. From repairs and sales to bookkeeping logistics, Dave does it all. Not only is he the technician, but he is also the customer service rep, sales manager, and even the local Purolator and FedEx point of contact.
Ironically, Dave disliked computers in college, but a love of computer games intrigued his curiosity, which developed into a full-fledged passion. Today, that passion fuels a trusted business built on genuine connections, dependable service and a deep commitment to helping his community navigate the ever-changing world of technology.
The business first opened its doors in Perth 25 years ago, founded by its original owner. In 2015 Dave took the reins, bringing over a decade of experience from running his own successful home-based computer service from 2004 to 2015.
At the core of Computer Plus is a clear and purposeful mission: to solve real problems, keep technology running smoothly, and earn the lasting trust of the community. For Dave, value and service aren’t just priorities, they’re promises. Whether he is staying late to assist a customer in a bind or patiently walking someone through a technical issue, his dedication and flexibility speak volumes. It is this hands-on, people-focused approach that has made Computer Plus a trusted local resource.
At Computer Plus Dave provides a wide range of services, including computer sales and repairs – offering both new and refurbished systems. The shop also carries a variety of retail products such as network gear, backup systems, hard drives and printer supplies. Additionally, Computer Plus serves as a local courier outlet for both Purolator and FedEx. While sales and retail are key parts of the business, service remains the core. As technology continues to evolve, Dave is constantly adapting to stay ahead and ensure he delivers the dependable support upon which his customers rely.
With only one employee, Dave’s biggest challenge is time. With responsibilities stretching across every part of the business, time off is rare, but with a strong work ethic rooted in his farm upbringing, Dave takes it in stride.
Despite the grind, Dave says one of the best parts of his job is constantly learning and getting to know people from all walks of life. Helping someone solve a problem and seeing them smile? That’s what makes it all worthwhile.
With 10 years under his belt at Computer Plus and a career rooted in service, Dave has created more than just a business, he’s built a community resource. Through adaptability, integrity, and a whole lot of dedication, Computer Plus continues to thrive. Dave’s work ethic and attention to integrity and kindness in service was recently acknowledged at the annual Perth and District Chamber of Commerce Business Achievement Awards in which he was the recipient of the People’s Choice Award. This award is a testament to his dedication to providing quality service and support to those in our community.
