To honour our 2011 Business Achievement Award winner, the Perth and District Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce Leo Adams Investments Inc. as our November 2011 Business of the Month.

The award was presented to Leo Adams Investments Inc. and its vice president and general manager Bill Beacham at the Perth and District Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner Oct. 20, 2011.

Known for reviving the Brown Show factory on Sunset Boulevard, Leo Adams Investments Inc. gave this forgotten building new life, which is now called “The Factory”.

The former Brown Shoe building was acquired in 2005 to provide offices for Leo Adams Investments Inc. and two subsidiary companies, with 18 employees on the roster.

They took a building that had started to decline and set out on an ambitious plan to refurbish the facility and create a modern business park.

The redevelopment of the building has had a positive economic impact in Perth, with the majority of the contracts for the project being awarded to local contractors and suppliers.

Accepting the award, Beacham said space for business tenants at The Factory is now about three quarters full. Beacham said the owners take pride in the facility and feel that a sense of community has been created there.

The 50,000 square foot facility has provided accommodations for businesses new to Perth, and existing business. Tenants include government, health, educational, technological and professional businesses.

Leo Adams Investments Inc. has also set a high standard for corporate citizenship. It makes its parking lot available as an assembly area for community parades, and supports local charities, including the Great War Memorial Hospital Foundation.
